Craig Olson 1949 - 1998
Craig R. Olson, 48, of Plano, Texas, and formerly of Monmouth, passed away at his residence in Plano, Texas, on Sunday, July 12, 1998.
He was born September 27, 1949, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the son of Guy and Ruth Hompland Olson and spent his early life in Bode, Iowa, and Monmouth.
A 1967 graduate of Monmouth High School, he received a bachelor's degree in business from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He received his master's in finance from SMU in 1973.
From his college years to the present, Craig had worked in the Dallas Metropolitan Banking and Investment Community. His greatest loves were always for his family, his friends and his home.
He was an avid Dallas sports enthusiast and participated in many area sports.
Surviving are his mother, Ruth H. Olson of Monmouth; one sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Carson Skaggs of Nevada City, California; one niece, Ryen Skaggs and two nephews, Jason and Zachary Skaggs.
Preceding him in death were his father and one brother, Jim Olson.
A graveside service for friends and relatives will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Stafford Weeks officiating.
No visitation hours are being planned by the family.
Ashes are to be interred in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established and will be designated later.
